Participation in Rakennustieto's RT Card Committees is open to experts with knowledge and insight in various areas of real estate and construction. Committees are a key method used by the Rakennustietosäätiö RTS to produce and update the RT card index and other information products.
What is a main committee?
The main committee's role is to guide the information production of Rakennustietosäätiö, Rakennustieto Oy, or Rakennustietomalli Oy within a specific customer group, industry, theme, or product area. It approves revisions and updates related to its subject area for information products and services. The term of office for a main committee is usually two years.
The composition of the committee is formed according to the requirements of the task. Typically, the committee includes a project manager, a chairperson, and expert members from various organisations.
Once the committee has completed its assigned task, its work concludes.
How does the committee work?
Rakennustietosäätiö defines the committee’s task and expected outcomes. The work is based either on pre-prepared materials, a commissioned manuscript, or another agreed-upon framework.
Committee members are invited as individual members, and membership is public information. Information about the committees’ tasks and compositions is published through RTS Group’s communication channels. The committee may form working groups to handle specific issues or parts of the task.
A representative from Rakennustieto Oy always acts as secretary in the committee and its working groups. This ensures consistency in guidelines regarding structure and terminology and guarantees smooth progress of the work.
